Ron Yee Presentation
Our January Meeting will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015. We meet at the Masonic Hall, located at 71 West 23rd Street (near 6th Ave), New York, NY 10010. Check with the guard when you enter the building to find out what room we will meet in (as this may change each month due to renovations). Masonic Hall is centrally located, in midtown Manhattan, right at the 23rd Street station of PATH and the NYC Transit F train. The 6, N, R, 1, C & E subway lines and many bus lines are nearby. For your convenience soft drinks and snacks available for purchase at the concession stand, at the back of our meeting room. Doors open at 6:00 PM, and the auction begins at 7:30 PM.
This January, our meeting’s entertainment will feature a digital presentation by Mr. Ron Yee. His show will consist of the following, but of course is not limited by the description printed here. Ron Yee presents a review of rail transit and commuter rail operations in the Denver, Salt Lake City and the Chicago region during the ERA conventions of 2011 and 2013 as well as some enroute images of Amtrak's California Zephyr as it journeyed from Denver to Salt Lake City. There will also be some images of SEPTA when the Silverliner II and III's were retired in 2012 as well as the transit scenes around the New York City area during the past year, LIRR, MNR, NJT, Amtrak, PATH and NYCT. If time permits, there will be a brief glimpse of the railways and trams of Venice, Florence, Sorrento and Rome, Italy recorded in late 2014. This show offers a good variety as Ron is an avid traveler living an active life in his free time, so come on out for a fun evening with a great presentation -- DON’T MISS IT!
Our meetings are held at the Masonic Hall, located at 71 West 23rd Street, New York City, usually in Room 2 Central (check with the guard when you enter the building).
